I whined a little down the page about the lack of reviews in print of the fabbo John Hiatt gig, Drum Media took their sweet time but they've got one. Don't squint, click for big version. I didn't mention Henry Wagons in my review, I thought he was pretty good. His band had their album launch at the Hopetoun a weekend or two ago and I almost got my act together to go. Almost.

Hey Amanda. Thanks for posting the review. Don't see the Drum Media too often on the Streets of Darwin. :-)

No worries.

Can you read the big version? It was fine when I did it at home, but trying it now (not at home) its fuzzy ...

amanda - i can't sleep - too excited - i just spent 3 hours lunch with connie smith's son / marty stuarts stepson= many stories of meeting George jones, bill monroe, J cash etc and hanging out backstage at Ryman as a kid - got two books of Stuarts b&w photos of country legends hes a better photographer than Leibowitz or Arbus. i'm stunned

In ...China? Or Melbourne? And is he coming to Sydney?

i'm still in Kaohsiung Taiwan. The guy i met lives here. Marty Stuart is the ace photographer not this guy. Marty is also a collector of country histroy memorobilia etc , hanks shirt, Patsy's skirt etc.

Just caught up with this post Amanda. I did grumble - to myself cause no-one else cares - on the same subject.

From the Ross Mc review, it would seem that JH played an identical set to the one I completely loved at National Theatre in St Kilda.

Zero in terms of reviews here, as the first show clashed with the Wilco show that seemed to suck up every critical word in the air in Melbs.

JH's pleasure in providing what the audience really wanted was very much appreciated. He seems, as they say in the USA, to be in a good place. As was I after the show..."Icy Blue Heart" was spine tingling!

Melbourne at least got two shows!
